Busy as a Bridesmaid should be a saying...

So, now that I have finished doing all of my free work on my friend's major wedding I can really get into this. I did her invitations, reply, reception, favors, save the dates, programs, jewelry suites for the bridesmaids, thank yous, the ring bearers pillow, and helped with anything that I could and otherwise got so caught up in it that I haven't made much of anything new in a while. On the plus side it was gorgeous and she was so beautiful on her wedding day that her groom should have cried. Here is a picture of some of the work I did on the same scale last year, unfortunately this year the bride needed every last piece...

Isn't the bride gorgeous? I also have a pic of the amazing tables...

More amazing jewelry and other metal goods are coming soon to Damselfly! Some of the ideas I have been sketching and thinking about are some of the best things I think I have ever come up with. I can't wait to get going tomorrow morning and just work all day with no worries of a wedding hanging over my head! On the plus side I have no more close friends to marry off so I won't be doing this again, as it is time consuming and I make no money from it, I only ever do this kind of work for close friends because it is so time consuming.

By the way, I am LOVIN' the new etsy Storque newsletter dealie. Very informative, and very entertaining!

A party is soon to explode!

I know I don't post enough to count and that I am a horrible blogger that should be shot. I have been working like crazy, gearing up for the holidays and enjoying every minute of it. Every time I turn around I slam into merchandise. It's like it all snuck in while I was sleeping or something. My aching joints know different. Soon my shops will explode with fabulousness and you will all be very happy shoppers with pretty new baubles to wear.

I always think that getting down to work is going to be this great big undertaking, and it was for a while after we moved because I had to reorganize and set stuff up and find out where things should live. This made me a very unhappy person. I like my shop to be easy to navigate, and it wasn't. Now that things are getting back to normal everything seems to be coming together, and I am really starting to enjoy making stuff again. I hope that comes out in some of the new peices!

Happy browsing!

Vacation and ensuing ideas...

So I went on vacation and saw both the Pacific and the Atlantic ocean while I was away. I spent time with family and friends, and had leisurely days that exposed me to everything from an amazing aquarium to a sex shop with awesome purses. I got a bunch of great new ideas and am going to implement them in the future. It should be pretty sweet!

I have started to add some new items in my etsy shop, and will continue to do so in the coming weeks. I have been flying from the seat of my pants lately, and as soon as I get back into the studio (on Thursday) I will start to really explore my ideas and my sketchbook instead of being all willy nilly and creating on the fly. Hopefully it will lead to a more cohesive group of work. We will see, as I have never been anywhere near cohesive...

A New Idea...

I have decided to start a blog based solely on my business udates and information - for my personal blog please feel free to visit: http://www.livejournal.com/bobolium. I will probably leak and overflow into both with personal and business as I have a hard time keeping them separate...we shall see how it goes.

I have just bought some new items on Etsy.com from various sellers for inclusion in my new projects. I wanted to see if I could make something using only things from etsy, with the exception of the metal components, as I already have the wire and the sheet. I will post pics and keep the blog updated as I work on these items, and I will list them in my shop when I have finished, thus completing the etsy circle. I thought it would be fitting.
