I have decided to start a blog based solely on my business udates and information - for my personal blog please feel free to visit: http://www.livejournal.com/bobolium. I will probably leak and overflow into both with personal and business as I have a hard time keeping them separate...we shall see how it goes.
I have just bought some new items on Etsy.com from various sellers for inclusion in my new projects. I wanted to see if I could make something using only things from etsy, with the exception of the metal components, as I already have the wire and the sheet. I will post pics and keep the blog updated as I work on these items, and I will list them in my shop when I have finished, thus completing the etsy circle. I thought it would be fitting.

- One of those amazing teachers from art school once asked me "What is the difference between drinking your coffee from a thrown ceramic mug or from a styrofoam cup?" and I think it is a valid question. Art enriches us, we look for beauty in all kinds of places, from the patterns on our plates to the hinges on an artisan door. A styrofoam cup may be functional but it does nothing for the senses. The mug can be enriching - it can give you something beautiful as well as functional, and in doing so enrich your life. A handmade item has a history. It has not been assembled or printed merely for profit, it has been painstakingly and lovingly crafted by a skilled artisan and because of this it is imbued with a soul. I have an AAS in Graphic Art and Design and a BFA in Dimensional Arts (Sculpture/Metalsmithing/Ceramics). I live in Rochester, NY in a little house with my amazing husband and my son that teaches me amazing new things daily - he is almost 3.
